Walk for Saturday 24 February 2024
Wendy is leading Saturday's walk, taking the 10.15am bus north from Guildford Square to Rhubodach to walk the Balnakeilly loop to Ettrick Bay on good forest paths, with a climb at the start. It will no doubt be muddy underfoot so please dress for the conditions. We can visit the tearooms at the end but bring something to eat and drink on the walk. Buses return hourly from Ettrick Bay. Walk for Saturday, 17th February 2024
Kilchattan to Dunagoil. Walking from Kilchattan to Dunagoil, the Fort and the Garraty, and back to Kilchattan via St Blane's and around the Suidhe. 6 miles. Easy. 9.45am bus south from Guildford Square to Kilchattan, buses return hourly from there. Walk for Tuesday 13 February 2024
West Island Way Northern Loop Walking from Port Bannatyne, following the northern loop of the West Island Way and returning to Port Bannatyne. (If the weather/ground conditions are very wet, the return can be via Moss Wood and the road). Bring food and drink, and dress for rough terrain, this is a 13 mile strenuous walk. 945am bus north from Guildford Square to Port Bannatyne, or meet at Port Bannatyne bus turning circle at 9.55am. Walk for Tuesday 6 February 2024
A number of members will be walking the Magnificent 11 on Tuesday 6th February. This walk was created by Glasgow Ramblers and was opened by Cameron McNeish in 2022. Most of the walk is on good paths but there is about a mile of muddy walking near the end. We will be car sharing and meeting in the West Kirk Car Park at 7:40am before catching the 8:05 ferry.
