JimC says "The timber merchants really have made a cat's dinner out of what used to be the best view of/from the top of the Island. I'm glad I did the walk as I had no idea how much of a pointless mess they'd made. I would be surprised if they could or would extract what they cut down at the Bunker, given that they seem to have finished extracting. Just a waste of effort and money."

Walk from Mount Stuart through Knocnicol wood and following the West Island Way to Stravanan bay and on to Kilchattan 

Starting fro Kilchattan post office, along the shore, up to the Bruchag road, to Kingarth and along the Plan road, finishing off with a walk up to Suidhe Hill via the track to the TV mast, and dropping down back to Kilchattan.

A very blustery trip up Barone Hill to celebrate New Year's Day

A walk from Mount Stuart main entrance to Kilchattan PO via Bruchag Point. Varied terrain - paths, tracks and roads, with atmospheric views over the Clyde Estuary on a cold but sunny day.

Patrick led the walk from Lovely Cottage Ardbeg along the Hydro road to Garrison road then Ettrick bay road to the Glenmore road and to Archavoulaig, then to Craigans and Kildavannan farm. A wet, muddy and enjoyable walk. Bus back from Ettrick bay.

A moderate 9 mi ramble to Kilchattan via Loch Fad, the Moor Road, Knocknicol Wood, Mount Stuart Orchard & Courtyard cafe, South Lodge, Kilchattan Bay to Kilchattan Orchard & PO on Saturday 23rd October 2021

Peter's walk from New Farm along Lord James Ride, Stravanan Bay, Bute golf course and airfield and Suidhe plantation into Kilchattan Bay.

Maria's walk to Barone Hill from Rothesay on a damp morning, though luckily the rain didn't come on fully until the top of Barone Hill was reached, and a short walk back to Rothesay.

JimC's walk from Ettrick Bay to St. Ninian's Bay circuar, a 7-8 mi moderate walk taking 4-5 hr over rough coastal and hill paths, starting and finishing at Ettrick Bay cafe on 18th September 2021.
