Desolation Alley

JimC says "The timber merchants really have made a cat's dinner out of what used to be the best view of/from the top of the Island. I'm glad I did the walk as I had no idea how much of a pointless mess they'd made. I would be surprised if they could or would extract what they cut down at the Bunker, given that they seem to have finished extracting. Just a waste of effort and money."

Starting fro Kilchattan post office, along the shore, up to the Bruchag road, to Kingarth and along the Plan road, finishing off with a walk up to Suidhe Hill via the track to the TV mast, and dropping down back to Kilchattan.

Ardbeg to Ettrick Bay

Patrick led the walk from Lovely Cottage Ardbeg along the Hydro road to Garrison road then Ettrick bay road to the Glenmore road and to Archavoulaig, then to Craigans and Kildavannan farm. A wet, muddy and enjoyable walk. Bus back from Ettrick bay.
